Google Adwords is a pay-per-click program that will allow you to advertise your business at an affordable cost. When you create your ad, you will be able to choose various keywords. When someone performing a Google search uses one of those keywords to perform a search, your ad may come up in the search listings. You only pay for the ad if the user clicks on your ad.

To set up your ad, simply go to www.google.com/adwords. You will put in some information such as the URL you want the ad to be directed to. This can be an affiliate link, the main page of your website, a specific page on your website, a landing page for a product you have created, your newsletter sign-up page, etc.

Next you will enter in your keywords. To be as effective as possible, use a keyword research tool such as wordtracker. This will allow you to see exactly how many people are searching for various search terms relating to your product or service.

You can get very advanced with Adwords and set up various campaigns. Adwords has some great tracking features to help you figure out which ad works better than others. However, if you are new to Adwords, you don’t have to worry about their advanced features just yet.

Google will allow you to display three lines of text with a total of 95 characters. You want your ad to read as descriptively as possible. Let the people who see the ad know exactly what they will be getting if they click on your ad.

Adwords has some other cool features to help you target your ad to the correct market. You can choose what location you want your ad displayed in. You can choose a whole country (such as the United States), a specific region of the US (such as Florida) or even a localized location (such as Orlando).

When you create your Adwords account, you will need to invest $5. After that, you can choose what you will pay per click. You are bidding against other people for top ad space. If someone else has chosen similar keywords, yet they placed a higher bid, their ad will be on top of yours in the search listings.

Not only can you set up predetermined amounts of how much money you are willing to spend per click, you can also set up limits of how much money you are willing to spend per day. This will allow you to load money into your Adwords account once a month and have your campaign funded throughout the entire month.
