One of the great benefits of PLR articles and ebooks, is that you can use them to build your opt-in list. Articles can be complied in a report, and ebooks can be branded with your website and affiliate links. They thus add value to your website, and require very little extra work on your behalf.
If you are using articles, and want to compile a report, it doesn’t have to be very long, but it does help if the articles are linked together in a logical flow of ideas. The report seems more naturally written then.
You can always write a few extra paragraphs or pages to link the ideas presented in the articles together. And for something a little different, you could try recording the finished product, and offering your subscibers the downloadable audio.
It doesn’t matter of you’re not an ‘expert’ professional voice-over person. All that matters is your sincerity, and it can be a nice way of showing your visitors that there’s a real person behind the website.
But how do you get those articles in report format?
You’ll need to complie them using software. Fortunately, you can get it pretty cheap - free in fact.
There are actually two ways you can present your ebook - PDF, or an executable file. The problem with the latter is that Mac users won’t be able to access your product. And many PC users will not bother opening or reading it.
Even though PC users can access the file, it sometimes requires a special program (and you want to make things as easy for your prospects and customers as possible). But more than that, they’re just painful! I categorically delete all ebooks and reports that are not in PDF format. Occasionally, I might open the first page, but I rarely (if ever) get beyond that.
And I don’t think I’m alone. PDF is pretty much the default standard when it comes to presenting information products that are in text form.
So, where do you get the software to compile ebooks and reports?
I’ve found PDF995 to be very good. They have a lot of the features (if not more), than many of the paid programs. They are easy to use. It’s simply a matter of selecting the option to ‘print’ to the program, and you’re done. I’ve used images in some things I’ve compiled, and they handled that well. Plus, they are reliable!
Suprisingly, lack of reliability can be an issue. On a few occasions, I’ve opened ebooks only to find sections missing. It’s always worth checking the finished product. Sometimes too, text has been repeated throughout. - And it wasn’t picked up by the author!
So, what are you waiting for. Build that list!
